HTOO Construction and Development Co. Ltd., which is one of the conglomerates of HTOO Group of Companies has taken the responsibility of constructing Upper Namp Htwam Hydro-power Project since 2015, that will support for the major development of Putao Region in Kachin State, has completely finished in 2019 and is able to transfer to the State
The opening ceremony of the above mentioned Upper Namp Htwam Hydro-power Project took place on 9th January 2019 and was attended by State Councellor Daw Aung Sann Su Kyi herself.
The Upper Namp Htwam Hydro-power Project site is located at about seven miles distance in the western part of Putao, with the capacity of 3.2 Megga Watt, and would be able to provide 14.3 million kilo-watt hours annually, which would be able to provide electricity to ten quarters in Putao Town, including four quarters in Machanbaw, covering a total of twenty three villages in 24 hours continuously.
Upper Namp Htwam Hydro-power Project is very important for the development of the remote areas in Putao Region, where the transportation is most difficult.
