Homage Paying Ceremony of HTOO Group of Companies attended by Chairman U Tay Za

The Homage Paying Ceremony of HTOO Group of Companies, which is held annually, was organized at Mingalar Hall, Kandawgyi Palace Hotel, today at 2:00 pm and the Chairman of the HTOO Group of Companies, U Tay Za attended the ceremony.

The Homage paying or “kadaw” ceremony was held, with the intention for the senior personnel, who have worked at the company for so many decades. This is traditional of Myanmar culture, paying respects to those, to whom respect is due and remembering those to whom we owe gratitude. According to records of HTOO Group of Companies, there are over 380 personnel above 60 years of age, who are employing for the HGC.

During the ceremony, there are several personnel who are older than him and so, Chairman U Tay Za paid respect to them first, together with other audience at the same time.

All the senior personnel, one by one were requested to give speech and good wishes to the audience. Finally, U Tay Za said warm-heartedly to the audience that for the prosperity of the HTOO Group of Companies, he will do his best and expect all the employees will serve their best.

Homage Paying Ceremony is a special occasion, and it is also time for remembering those to whom we owe respects and gratitude, according to Buddha Teachings. Similar ceremonies were held by the venerable monks, Sangha ever since the lifetime of Buddha.

Moreover, along recorded history of Myanmar, there were Homage Paying Ceremonies. For a little bit of details, during Ava era, Saethe Village Headman U Aung Kyi, U Lu Min who was a poet and lived during Konbaung Dynasty, the last dynasty that ruled Myanmar from 1752 to 1885 and U Pyone Cho, one poet lived during colonial era, all these artists composed about homage paying ceremony in their art works.

On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106. As many years before the United Nations voted and observed the International Day of Older Persons, we, Myanmar proudly celebrated and hold paying respect ceremonies and it is one of the intangible heritages of Myanmar traditional culture that all our nationals can be proud.

The HTOO Group of Companies would like to express that all the employees of HTOO Group of Companies, not only the staff who attended the paying respect ceremony but also, the rest of the employees, who could not able to attend the ceremony as their duties did not favor them to do so, may be fulfill and get achievements in their lives, in accordance with the good will of senior personnel.
