120 participants of religious leaders, professionals and government officials from 27 foreign countries and 80 participants from home country, a total of 200 will attend the conference of on Peace, Harmony and Security and it will be mainly sponsored by HTOO Group of Companies’ Chairman, U Tay Za, and the conference will be held on 5th and 6th of August, 2017.
The leadership role for the above conference will be taken by Sitagu Sayadaw Venerable Dr. Ashin Nyanissara in collaboration with Sitagu International Buddhist Missionary Association, Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Tokyo Foundation of Japan, and Vivekananda International Foundation of India and title of the conference will be Interfaith Dialogue for Peace, Harmony and Security. The conference will be held on 5th and 6th of August, 2017 as mentioned above at Sigatu International Buddhist Academy, located at No.10, Pin Lone Road, North Dagon, Yangon, commencing from 8 hours in the morning.
Interfaith dialogue describes exchanges among religious practitioners and communities on matters of doctrine and issues of material concern in culture and politics. But it has to be noted that it is totally different from syncretism, of which syncretism is the attempt of conciliation or union of different or opposing principles, practices or parties, as in philosophy or religion.
In some interfaith dialogue conferences, it is referred as inter belief dialogue recently. Apart from that, it is also known as Inter-religious dialogue. To describe a bit further more, the interfaith dialogue conference has begun as early as in 16th century in India, so that we can also say that Interfaith dialogue has been going on in the early centuries.
